Markets

Use Markets to group your sales territories or regions (for example East, West, or a city name). Markets help you assign reps to the right area and filter accounts, calls, reports, and other CallProof screens by territory.

Markets

Navigation: Settings Icon Hover → Settings & Customization → Markets

From Markets you can also:

• Add a new market
• Edit a market name
• Add or remove users in a market
• Delete a market (managers)

How to open Markets

Option A — From the main menu

1. Sign in to CallProof.
2. In the left sidebar menu, open the menu item for Markets (label may vary by company setup).
3. The Markets list opens.

Option B — Open Markets directly

1. Open your web browser.
2. Go to your CallProof website and add /markets/ at the end of the address (for example: https://appv2.callproof.com/markets/).
3. Press Enter.
4. The Markets list appears.

Option C — From Company Directory

1. Open Company Directory (Users).
2. Open a rep’s edit/settings area when available.
3. Click Add / Edit Markets if the link is shown.
4. You are taken to the Markets screen.

Option D — From Quick Links

1. On the Markets page, click Quick Links.
2. Choose a related item such as Account, Add Account, Companies, or Call History when you need related work.

Permissions

• You must be signed in to open Markets.
• Signed-in users can view markets, add markets, edit markets, and manage users in a market (based on company access).
• Only managers can delete a market.
• Company menu permissions control whether Markets appears in your sidebar.
• Some companies also use markets with stores (dealer / telemarketing setups).

What you see on the Markets list

Header

• Title: Markets
• Add Market button
• Quick Links menu (Accounts, Companies, Call History, Import/Export, Labels, and related links)

Table columns

• Name — market name
• Actions — Edit and Delete

Messages you may see

• Add Market pop-up
• Success or error messages after save or delete
• Permission message if a non-manager tries to delete
• Empty list when no markets exist yet

Field guide

Name

• The market / territory label.
• Required.
• Maximum length is 64 characters on the edit screen (longer names are trimmed when created).
• Names must be unique for your company.
• Letters, numbers, and spaces are supported when creating a market.

Users in a market

• People (reps) assigned to that market.
• Only users not already in the market appear in the Add User list.

Add a Market

Click the Add Market(plus) icon

Add Market

1. Open Markets.
2. Click Add Market.
3. Enter a Name.
4. Click Save.
5. If the name is blank or already exists, fix it and try again.
6. The new market appears in the list.
7. Open Edit to add users to the market.

Edit a Market

Click the Edit Market(pencil) icon

Edit Market

1. Open Markets.
2. Click the Edit (pencil) icon for the market.
3. The Edit Market page opens.
4. Change Enter Market Name if needed.
5. Click Update.
6. After a successful update, you return to the Markets list.
7. To manage users without renaming, stay on the Edit Market page and use the Users section below.

Add a user to a Market

Add User to Market

1. Open Markets.
2. Click Edit for the market.
3. Click Add User.
4. Choose a user from the list.
5. Click Save.
6. The user appears in the market’s Users table.
7. Repeat for each user who should belong to this market.

Remove a user from a Market

1. Open Markets.
2. Click Edit for the market.
3. In the Users table, find the user.
4. Click the trash (Delete) icon.
5. Confirm the delete when asked.
6. The user is removed from that market (the user account itself is not deleted).

Delete a Market

Delet Market

1. Confirm you are a manager.
2. Open Markets.
3. Click the trash (Delete) icon for the market.
4. Confirm the delete when asked.
5. The market is removed from the active list, and user assignments for that market are cleared.
6. If you are not a manager, deletion is blocked.

Where Markets are used

After you create markets and assign users, CallProof uses them across the product:

1. Filter accounts, calls, event form entries, notes, business cards, and reports by market.
2. Limit what managers and reps see based on market membership and company settings.
3. Assign reps in Company Directory to one or more markets.
4. Support territory-based workflows for field sales teams.

Tips and important notes

• Use clear market names your team will recognize (city, region, or territory).
• Duplicate market names are not allowed for the same company.
• Adding a user to a market does not create a new user—it only links an existing user to that market.
• Removing a user from a market does not delete the user from CallProof.
• Only managers can delete markets.
• Deleting a market soft-removes it from the list and clears its user links.
• You can also manage market membership from Company Directory for individual reps.
• Quick Links on Markets focus on accounts and related contact tools.

Need help?

• Cannot delete a market: confirm you are a manager
• User missing from Add User list: the user may already be in that market
• Market name already exists: choose a different name
• Other issues: email support@callproof.com
