Update Profile Photo
Screen purpose: Change the photo that represents you in CallProof (sidebar, lists, maps, activity, and other places your avatar appears).
- Preview your current photo (or initials if you have none)
- Drag and drop or choose a new image
- Upload and refresh so the new photo shows everywhere
Popup title: Update Profile Photo
Opened from: Sidebar → Personal Settings → Update Profile Photo
Upload address: /users/images/<your_profile_id>/
Note: This is a popup — not a full page. There is no separate browse URL; open it from Personal Settings.
Navigation: Personal Icon Hover → Update Profile Photo
How to open Update Profile Photo
Option A — Personal Settings (recommended)
- Sign in to CallProof.
- Open the sidebar Personal Settings area (gear / settings menu — label may vary).
- Click Update Profile Photo.
- The Update Profile Photo popup opens on top of your current screen.
Option B — From Edit User (managers / company directory)
Managers can also change a rep’s photo while editing that user:
- Open the user’s edit / company directory profile.
- Use the profile image upload section on that screen.
- Choose a file and upload (same file types: JPG, PNG, SVG).
Permissions
- You must be signed in.
- From Personal Settings, you update your own photo.
- From Edit User, you can update a photo only for users in your company.
- Company menu permissions control whether Personal Settings appears in the sidebar.
What you see in the popup
| Area | What it does |
|---|---|
| Circular preview | Shows your current photo. If you have no photo yet, CallProof shows an initials-style avatar. |
| Hint | “Image can be any size but should be proportional.” |
| Drag & Drop or Choose File | Drop zone / click area to pick a file. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, SVG. |
| File name | Shows the selected file name after you choose one. |
| Upload | Sends the new photo and refreshes the page on success. |
| X (close) | Closes without uploading. |
Why Update Profile Photo matters
| Action | Purpose | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Upload a photo | Makes you easy to recognize in lists, maps, leaderboards, and activity. | New hire setup, or when your current photo is outdated. |
| Replace a photo | Swaps the old image for a new one without changing your name or settings. | New headshot, role change, or clearer picture. |
| Use a proportional image | Keeps the circular crop looking clean (face centered, not stretched). | Always — before you upload. |
Upload or replace your profile photo
Supported files
| Rule | Details |
|---|---|
| Formats | JPG, PNG, SVG |
| Size | Any size is accepted; use a clear, proportional headshot |
| Required | You must select a file before clicking Upload |
Steps
- Open Personal Settings → Update Profile Photo.
- Confirm the preview shows your current photo (or initials).
- Either:
- Drag and drop an image onto the dashed box, or
- Click the upload area / icon and choose a file.
- Check the circular preview — it updates to the new image before you upload.
- Confirm the file name appears under the drop zone.
- Click Upload.
- You should see: Profile image uploaded successfully.
- The page reloads after about a second so the new photo appears in the sidebar and elsewhere.
If you click Upload with no file selected: CallProof shows Please select a file before uploading and does not change your photo.
Where your photo appears
After a successful upload (and page refresh), your new photo is used in places such as:
- Sidebar / signed-in user icon
- User lists and company directory
- Map / field views that show rep avatars
- Activity and ranking-style screens that display your image
If a screen still shows the old photo, refresh the browser once more.
Typical workflow
- Open Update Profile Photo from Personal Settings.
- Choose a clear, square-ish headshot (JPG or PNG works best).
- Preview it in the circle.
- Click Upload and wait for the success message and reload.
- Confirm the sidebar icon updated.
Tips and important notes
- Prefer a face-centered, proportional photo — wide banners crop awkwardly in the circle.
- JPG or PNG are the most reliable everyday formats; SVG is also allowed.
- Selecting a file only previews it — nothing is saved until you click Upload.
- Closing the popup with X discards an unuploaded selection.
- This popup does not change your name, email, or password — photo only.
- Google / Microsoft login may set an initial photo for new accounts; you can still replace it here anytime.
- Managers uploading from Edit User use the same image rules and company check.
Need help?
- “Please select a file before uploading”: choose a JPG/PNG/SVG first, then click Upload
- Upload fails / “Invalid form”: use an allowed format and try a smaller or different file
- Photo did not change: wait for the reload, then hard-refresh the browser
- Wrong person’s photo: from Personal Settings you can only change your own; managers use Edit User for another rep
