Routes
Routes allow users to plan and manage driving routes for customer visits. Users can select contacts from multiple areas of CallProof, organize the visit order, optimize travel time or distance, assign routes to one or more sales representatives, notify assigned users, print route PDFs, and filter contacts by route.
Navigation: People → Routes
Routes integrate with Contacts, Companies, Appointments, Followups, and Google Maps.
Access & Permissions
| User / Permission | Access |
|---|---|
| Logged-in User | Required for all Route pages. |
| Manager / Market Manager | Can view all routes, filter by users, assign multiple reps, and permanently delete routes. |
| Sales Representative | Can view routes assigned to them. Can edit or delete only routes they own. |
| Route Owner | Can edit and delete owned routes. |
| Geo Location | Only contacts with Latitude and Longitude can be added to routes. |
| Maximum Contacts | Up to 25 contacts per route. |
| Minimum Contacts | At least 2 contacts are required to display a route on the map. |
Route Creation Methods
Routes can be created in three different ways.
Method 1 — Route Icons + Save Route
Create a route while browsing Contacts, Companies, Appointments, or Followups.

Steps
- Open one of the supported pages.
- Click the Route icon beside each contact you want to visit.
- Continue selecting contacts.
- Review the Route counter shown in the pagination bar.
- Click Save Route.
- If the Route Options dialog appears, choose Save Route.
- The selected contacts are transferred to the Route Builder.
Method 2 — Map View
Create a route visually using Google Maps.
Steps
- Open People → Contacts.
- Perform a search.
- Click Map.
- Review the contact markers.
- Click markers to add or remove contacts.
- Optionally use the Lasso tool to select multiple nearby contacts.
- Click Add to Route.
- Click Save Route.
- The selected contacts open in the Route Builder.
Notes
- Maximum of 25 contacts.
- Existing route contacts are skipped.
- A warning appears when mapping more than 1,000 contacts.
Method 3 — Bulk Create Route
Purpose
Create a named route directly from selected search results.
Steps
- Search for contacts.
- Select one or more contacts.
- Choose Create a Route from the bulk actions.
- Enter the Route Name.
- Managers may assign one or more Sales Representatives.
- Choose one of the following:
- Selected Accounts
- Maximum 25 Accounts
- All Search Results
- Click Add Route.
- The Route Builder opens.
Notes
- Contacts must have valid Latitude and Longitude.
- Maximum of 25 contacts.
- Missing location information prevents route creation.
Routes List
Navigation: Routes
The Routes page displays all saved routes available to the current user.
Managers can search all routes while Sales Representatives see only their assigned routes.
Search Routes
Managers can filter routes using:
- User
- Show Inactive Users
- Sort
- Start Date
- End Date
Click Search to refresh the results.
Route List Columns

Add Route
- Click Add Route.
- If contacts have already been selected, the Route Builder opens.
- If no contacts are staged, CallProof redirects to Contacts and displays a message requesting contact selection.
Delete Route
- Click the Delete (red X) icon.
- Confirm the deletion.
Manager
Deletes the route for all assigned users.
Sales Representative
If the route is shared, only the current user's assignment is removed.
Add / Edit Route
Create or modify a saved driving route.
Screen Layout

Create Route
- Enter a Route Name.
- Optionally select an existing Saved Route.
- Managers may assign one or more Sales Representatives.
- Drag and drop stops to reorder them.
- Remove unwanted stops.
- Optionally click Optimize.
- Click Save.
- If assigning another user, choose whether to send notifications.
- The route is saved.
Edit Route
- Open an existing route.
- Update the route information.
- Drag stops to reorder them.
- Add or remove contacts.
- Click Save.
Optimize Route
Click Optimize to automatically calculate the most efficient driving order.
Options include:
- Keep Start
- Keep Start and End
Click Reset to restore the original order.
Notifications
When assigning routes to other users, CallProof asks whether notifications should be sent.
Available options:
- Push Notification
- Both
Validation Messages
| Message | Cause |
|---|---|
| Route name required | No route name entered |
| Please select assigned reps | Manager did not assign users |
| At least one contact required | No contacts selected |
| Maximum 25 contacts allowed | Route exceeds limit |
| Save route before printing | Unsaved changes exist |
View Route
Purpose
Display a read-only route map.
- Open a route you do not own.
- Review the map and stop order.
- No editing is available.
Print Route
Generate a printable PDF containing:
- Route map
- Contact list
- Distances
- Driving durations
- Assigned representatives
Steps
- Open the Edit Route page.
- Save any unsaved changes.
- Click Print.
- Choose one of the following:
- Current Order
- Optimize Shortest Time
- Optimize Shortest Distance
- Click Save.
- The PDF is generated.
Filter Contacts by Route
Navigation: People → Contacts
Use the advanced search filters to locate contacts based on routes.
Available filters:
- Route
- Not in a Route
Click Search to display matching contacts.

Notes
- Routes require valid GPS coordinates.
- Maximum of 25 contacts per route.
- Managers can assign routes to multiple users.
- Google Maps is used for route visualization.
- Route optimization calculates the most efficient travel sequence.
- Notifications may be sent by Email, Push Notification, or both.
- Contacts can be filtered by Route or Not in a Route from the Contacts search page.
