Routes

Screen title: Routes

Browser title: Route

Address: /route/

Use Routes to build and manage day visit plans — ordered lists of accounts/contacts on a map, assigned to sales reps, with distance/time, optimize, print, and notify options.

Related: you usually pick accounts on the Accounts list (/contacts/) first (checkboxes, map icons, or Lasso), then Save Route to open Add Route.

How Routes fit together

Screen Address Purpose
Routes list /route/ Find, filter, edit, or delete saved routes
Add Route /route/new/ Name the route, order stops, assign reps, save (after selecting accounts)
Edit Route /route/edit/<id>/ Change name, stops, order, assignees; optimize; print; notify
View Route /route/view/<id>/ View when you are not the owner (non-managers)
Accounts (start here) /contacts/ Select accounts → Save Route / Add Route icons → then Add Route

Typical flow:

  1. On Accounts, select mappable accounts (or use Map + Lasso / Add Route icons).
  2. Click Save Route (map mode) or complete selection so CallProof stores the stop list.
  3. Open Add Route (/route/new/).
  4. Name the route (or add to a saved route), assign reps if you are a manager, reorder stops, optionally Optimize.
  5. Click Save (and optionally send a notification to assigned users).
  6. Later, manage everything from Routes (/route/).

Permissions

  • You must be signed in.
  • Managers / market managers can filter by User, see Assign To, and assign routes to other reps.
  • Owners can delete their routes (trash icon when you are the owner).
  • Non-owners may open View instead of full edit, depending on ownership.
  • Only accounts with latitude and longitude appear as route stops (no location = cannot be routed).
  • Company menu permissions control whether Routes appears in the sidebar.

Why Add, Edit, and Delete matter

Action Purpose When to use it
Add Route Create a new ordered visit plan from selected accounts. Planning today’s or this week’s calls/visits.
Edit Route Change name, stops, order, assignees; optimize path; print; notify. Territory change, missed stop, reassign to another rep.
Delete Route Remove a route you own (managers may fully remove). Outdated plan you will not use again.
Optimize Reorder stops for shorter time or better path (with start/end options). Before leaving for the field.
Print PDF / printable list for the day. Offline driving or handoff to a rep.

View / Edit / Delete from the list

Route actions

Edit

  1. Click the Route Name (if you are owner) or the Edit icon.
  2. Opens Edit Route (/route/edit/<id>/).

View (non-owner)

  1. Click the route name when you are not the owner.
  2. Opens View Route (/route/view/<id>/).

Delete

  1. If you are the owner, click the Delete (trash) icon.
  2. Confirm.
  3. The route is removed (or your assignment is removed, depending on role/ownership rules).

Part 2 — Start a route from Accounts

Routes are built from accounts that have a map location.

From Accounts list / map

  1. Open Accounts (/contacts/).
  2. Filter to the area or set you need.
  3. Select accounts (checkboxes), use Add Route icons on rows with lat/long, and/or use Map + Lasso then Create Route.
  4. When the route count is ready, click Save Route (map header).
  5. CallProof opens Add Route (/route/new/) with those stops loaded.

Important:

  • Accounts without latitude/longitude cannot be route stops.
  • If you open /route/new/ with no selected stops, CallProof sends you back to Accounts to select some.

Part 3 — Add Route

Address: /route/new/

Notify assigned users

When a manager assigns a route to other reps and saves, CallProof may ask:

“Would you like to send this Route to the assigned user?”

If Yes, choose how to notify:

Option Meaning
Email Send updates via email
Push to App Notify in the mobile/app
Both Email and push

Then click OK (or Cancel to skip sending).

Tips and important notes

  • Best workflow: Accounts (select) → Save Route → Add Route (name/order/assign) → Optimize → Save → (optional) Notify / Print.
  • Only accounts with map coordinates become stops.
  • Drag to set your preferred visit order; Optimize when you want CallProof to improve the path.
  • Managers use Assign Route so reps see the plan on their side.
  • Delete is limited to owners (and managers can fully remove); confirm before deleting.
  • Print is on Edit after the route exists; save first if you just changed stops.
  • Filter Routes by User and Create Date to find last week’s plans quickly.
  • Nearby Contacts helps you fill gaps on the map without returning to the full Accounts list.

Need help?

  • Add Route sends you to Accounts: select accounts with locations first, then Save Route
  • Stop missing on map: account needs address geocoding (lat/long)
  • Cannot delete: you may not be the route owner
  • Optimize disabled / weak: add more stops, then try again
  • Print blocked: Save the route (and recent stop changes) first
  • Rep did not get the route: on Save, choose Yes and Email / Push / Both
