Do Not Call

Screen purpose: Mark phone numbers as Do Not Call (DNC) on your existing accounts — one number at a time, or in bulk from a spreadsheet — and optionally connect your company to the Gryphon Do Not Call system for outbound calling.

Do Not Call popup
  • Add a single phone number to the DNC list
  • Import many numbers from a file
  • Download all account phone numbers (export) to build your list
  • Configure Gryphon integration at the company level
  • See DNC numbers struck through on the Accounts list

Screen title: Do Not Call

Opens as: Popup modal (not a full page)

Address used to load content: /contacts/do_not_call/

How to open Do Not Call

Option A — Accounts More Actions

  1. Sign in to CallProof.
  2. Open Accounts (/contacts/).
  3. Open More Actions.
  4. Click Do Not Call.

Option B — Sidebar / menu link

  1. Open the main sidebar menu.
  2. Click Do Not Call (if your menu includes it).
  3. The popup opens; the address bar may show /contacts/do_not_call/.

Option C — Other module menus

  1. On screens that include it (Markets, Regions, SMS, Account Types, and similar), open the module menu.
  2. Click Do Not Call.

Permissions

  • You must be signed in.
  • Add and Import are available to signed-in users who can open the popup.
  • Download Account Phone Numbers appears only if your profile has export permission; the download itself also requires manager access.
  • Gryphon Integration saves company-wide settings — typically used by admins or managers.

What you see in the popup

The modal has four sections (top to bottom):

Section What it does
Export Phone Numbers Download a CSV of all distinct phone numbers on accounts in your company (export permission required).
Add Phone Number to Do Not Call Type one number and mark matching account phones as DNC.
Import Do Not Call List Upload a spreadsheet of numbers to mark in bulk.
Gryphon Integration Turn Gryphon on/off and enter Access Number, PIN, and Campaign for your company.

Why Do Not Call matters

Action Purpose When to use it
Add one number Flag a single known DNC number quickly. A contact asked not to be called.
Import list Mark many numbers at once. You receive an internal or legal DNC file.
Export phones first Get every number in your CRM before matching against an external DNC list. Bulk compliance cleanup.
Gryphon Route eligible outbound Web calls through Gryphon’s DNC check. Your company uses Gryphon for telemarketing compliance.

Export account phone numbers

Export Phone Numbers

Purpose: Download all phone numbers stored on your accounts so you can compare them with an external Do Not Call list before importing.

Steps

  1. Open the Do Not Call popup.
  2. In Export Phone Numbers, click Download Account Phone Numbers.
  3. Save the CSV file (column header: phone number).

Good to know

  • Shown only when your profile has export permission.
  • Requires manager access to complete the download.
  • Numbers must already exist on an account in your company — export does not add DNC flags by itself.

Add a single phone to Do Not Call

Add phone to DNC

Steps

  1. Open the Do Not Call popup.
  2. In Add Phone Number to Do Not Call, enter the phone number.
  3. Click Add Do Not Call.
  4. Wait for the success message: Phone number added to Do Not Call list.

Good to know

  • Enter a valid 10-digit US number (with or without formatting).
  • CallProof marks existing account phone records that match — it does not create new accounts or phone records.
  • If no account in your company has that number, you see: No contact with this phone number found in your account.
  • On the Accounts list, DNC numbers appear struck through with a Do Not Call tooltip.

Import a Do Not Call list

Import Do Not Call List

Prepare your file

  1. In the popup, click Download Sample Do Not Call List to get the sample Excel file (Do_Not_Call_List.xls).
  2. Put one phone number per row in the first column (row 1 can be a header — it is skipped).
  3. Save as .csv, .xls, or .xlsx.

Upload steps

  1. Open the Do Not Call popup.
  2. Under Import Do Not Call List, click Choose file / Upload Do Not Call List.
  3. Select your file.
  4. Click Upload.
  5. When finished, you see: Do not call list imported successfully.

Good to know

  • Only numbers that already exist on account phones in your company are updated.
  • Numbers are normalized (non-digits removed; leading 1 on 11-digit numbers is dropped; first 10 digits used).
  • Empty or invalid rows are skipped.
  • Import marks phones as DNC; it does not remove DNC flags from numbers not in the file.
  • If the file is empty or unreadable, you get an error asking you to check the format.

Gryphon Integration

Gryphon settings

Purpose: When enabled, eligible outbound Web (Twilio) calls can be routed through the Gryphon Do Not Call system using your company’s Access Number, PIN, and Campaign.

Steps

  1. Open the Do Not Call popup.
  2. Scroll to Gryphon Integration.
  3. Check Yes under Use Gryphon Do Not Call System.
  4. Fill in:
    • Access Number
    • PIN
    • Campaign
  1. Click Update.
  2. After Gryphon settings saved successfully, the page reloads.

Good to know

  • Uncheck Yes to turn Gryphon off for your company.
  • Settings apply company-wide, not per user.
  • Gryphon is used for certain outbound Web calls when the company flag is on and the phone qualifies (based on account phone activation rules).
  • Coordinate Access Number, PIN, and Campaign with your Gryphon administrator.

How DNC appears elsewhere

On the Accounts list

  • Phone numbers marked DNC show struck through with tooltip Do Not Call.
  • Reps can still see the number but should not call it.

From Text Messages

  • If a contact replies STOP to an SMS, CallProof may automatically mark that phone as Do Not Call (and stop SMS to that account).

Removing DNC

  • This popup is for adding DNC flags in bulk. To clear DNC on a specific phone, update that phone on the account (or contact your admin) — there is no “remove from list” button in this popup.

Typical workflow

  1. Open Accounts → More Actions → Do Not Call.
  2. (Optional) Download Account Phone Numbers if you need a full phone list.
  3. Match numbers against your DNC source file.
  4. Import Do Not Call List (or add numbers one at a time).
  5. Confirm on Accounts that flagged numbers show struck through.
  6. (Optional) Enable Gryphon Integration if your company uses Gryphon for outbound compliance.

Tips and important notes

  • This is a popup, not a standalone page — close it with the X when done.
  • DNC only affects phone records already on accounts in your company.
  • Import and single-add set do_not_call to true; they do not delete accounts or phone records.
  • Use the sample file format to avoid upload errors.
  • Export phones and import DNC are separate steps — export downloads numbers; import marks matches as DNC.
  • Gryphon is optional and separate from marking numbers in CallProof’s database.

Need help?

  • “No contact with this phone number found”: the number is not on any account phone — add it to an account first, or check formatting.
  • Import succeeded but nothing changed: numbers in the file may not match any account phones in your company.
  • Cannot download phone list: you may need export permission and manager access.
  • Gryphon calls not routing: confirm Gryphon is enabled, credentials are correct, and your admin has configured Twilio/Gryphon for your company.
